So here’s a photo of Tom in his current state. We opened up the front a bit more to allow more access for large pieces and cleaning. This is a photo from the last time we fired the forge, It’s raining all weekend this weekend so no forge for us. We’re moving to a new warehouse in about a month and a half so this will no longer be an issue for us. Indoor Metalshop HO! The second and third photos are the difference in switching from charcoal to blacksmiths coal. That spike was in the fire for about 1 minute and when we pulled it out the entire section was white hot and dripping. Lesson learned. The final here is a simple J hook I pounded out of some blanks that we had around from cutting slots in some plate from a previous contract. It’s veeeeeerrry rough.
In other news Lux Systems is proud to announce we have registered with the California Blacksmiths Association and will be starting official lessons in April. Very exciting.
